Claire Tanner.

Claire has extensive experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice, qualifying in 1997, having previously completed a degree in Sports Science. Claire has worked in New Zealand, as well as with the British Army, primarily at Sandhurst. Most recently, Claire led the Musculoskeletal Service for North Hampshire.

Claire currently works in the outpatient orthopaedic department at Basingstoke Hospital as an Extended Scope Practitioner. In this role, she assesses patients referred by their GPs with musculoskeletal conditions. Claire is an experienced injector and regularly administers joint and soft tissue steroid injections, including spinal injections. As an independent prescriber, Claire can prescribe medicines for improving patient access and care, whilst supporting a holistic management approach to patient recovery.

Claire will be supporting Simran with her joint and soft tissue injection qualification, acting as her injection supervisor and providing clinical mentorship and oversight. As an injection supervisor, Claire will guide Simran through practical skills, whilst ensuring safety, and validating competence in accordance with CSP standards of practice.
